The Laboratoire Central des Ponts et Chaussées (LCPC) (Division for Soil Mechanics and Site Survey - RMS), the Research Institute in Civil and Mechanical Engineering (UMR CNRS GeM) and the French Confederation of Non Destructive Testing (COFREND) would like to thank all the persons who contributed to make the seventh International Non Destructive Testing in Civil Engineering Symposium "NDTCE'09" which was held in the city of Nantes (France) a great success.
We thank all the attendees who decided to come to Nantes (from more than 26 countries, some of them after a very very long journey) to present their latest results, to listen to their colleagues and discuss with them about non destructive testing for civil engineering. It is the quality of those exchanges that has made the symposium a real success. Not to mention the exhibitors who have disseminated practical information and contributed to the unique opportunity to cross research and application.
The scientific quality of the event deeply relies on the International organizing committee and the scientific committee that is more than 50 colleagues who promoted the event and who selected relevant papers for the symposium through an intense abstract and paper reviewing process.
We finally thank the local organising committee, thanks to whom attendees have enjoyed many visible (and invisible) aspects of NDTCE organisation. The work was shared among a very responsible team of people who did manage their lot with success, including: the proceeding book, which is actually 1027 pages thick, the dedicated program, information to enjoy Nantes and eventually wine and honey, the organization of the exhibitions, the food from coffee breaks, lunches to the reception at Nantes city hall and to gala diner.
It will be a pleasure to meet again in 2012 for the next NDTCE symposium !
The slides of the closure talk by B. GODART (LCPC) can be downloaded here . Pictures of the symposium are also visible here (a email was sent to the attendees with login and password). You can access to the proceedings of the symposium here. You can command the proceeding book and associated CDROM by sending a mail to delabi@lcpc.fr.
